1969 AMC Rambler SC/Hurst
Mike Kroll

The car was made in 1969 only (and premiered at the 1969 Chicago Auto Show), and
built to be a budget hotrod. Assembled in conjunction with the Hurst Corporation
(of shifter fame), the little Rambler Rogues were fitted with a 315 hp 390 ci engine
with 4-bbl carb. Floor-mounted 4-speed shifters and a "mail-box" hood scoop were
also included. The only option: AM radio. Total price: $2,995. And it would
run consistent mid-14 sec. quarter mile runs all day long - right off the showroom
floor!

Only 1,512 of these gems were produced. The "A-Scheme" is shown here. The "B-Scheme"
is a little more subdued, with thinner blue and red stripes along the rocker panels.

1969 was the last year for the Rambler, and the Hurst SC/Rambler let the "Rambler"
nameplate go out with a huge bang!
